No more 4x4 on this trail?

Gates up on both sides with big signs about fines on each of them. Thanks to those that ruined it for the rest of us.

Just went the other day. Came in from Tower Hill Rd. Rocky incline to access the road. Nice loop from Tower Hill to Spaulding Hill. Some technical areas but was able to make it thru with a stock truck. Is clearly marked areas that wheeled vehicles are not allowed. Locals don't want you in there but it is still listed as a public roadway. Just respect the area

THIS TRAIL IS CLOSED! THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO ABUSED IT AND DROVE ON CONSERVATION LAND! THANKS A LOT!

Please advise that this trail is being changed to a Class A Trail this year (2022). Us Land Holders and the Town have come to agreement on this. Too much abuse has brought us here, and the section of Town is Historical and trying to be preserved. Thank you all for understanding.

Went through trail twice this morning, there was a lot of ice on it. Nice, narrow Class VI with nothing too technical. You could do this in a stock Jeep in 2WD if you're running 32's and never scrape bottom without slowing down too much. The Spaulding Hill Rd. portion quickly gets you to a fork and the resulting trails feel like, and are marked like hiking trails, but I think they're other Class VI road. I was careful not to trespass. Fun, good for beginners, or slightly more advanced on rainy/ icy days.

This trail is about to be shut down due to the past year's worth of abuse and misuse, from trespassing/vehicular travel on conservation land. There was also a large fire out in the woods this past summer from people partying. Also, ATV'S AND DIRTBIKES ARE NOT ALLOWED DOWN THIS CLASS VI ROAD!!!!!!!! I ran this trail three times in 2021 and each time was confronted by locals who are quite upset about the amount of vehicle traffic and abuse of the trails. ALL THE LAND ON BOTH SIDES OF THE MAIN CLASS VI ROAD (SPAULDING HILL ROAD) IS CONSERVATION LAND/PRIVATE PROPERTY!!!!!!! The town Board of Selectmen and Forestry Committee has been in meetings now since November to shut down this Class VI road. They are going to gate both ends and change classification from a Class VI road to a Class A Trail which is for foot traffic (hiking) only. I know firsthand the trail has been misused, you can see the tire tracks and ruts on the conservation land. This here is a classic example of when the wrong people get word of a once great Class VI road and destroy it by abuse and trespassing.

The trails off of Spaulding Hill Road are not legal to ride, these are conservation properties and the trails are being destroyed! This address is a resident and he is very upset about it being used for this purpose. Please discontinue riding in this area.

Took my 2015 Subaru XV here today. Lots of rocks and puddles of mud (not the band). Overall it was a lot of fun, didn't run into any trouble. I'll definitely be back. I followed the Blue trail.

Splits off in several directions but I only went 1 way. First time testing out my 4wd in my H2. Trail is just wide enough for me in most places. Few deep mud spots and water but wasn't a challenge for my 37's did have to be careful on some rocky spots as to not puncture my tires because of my width. I don't care what others say, I've taken beaters out in the woods in my younger days, no car is getting through what I went through even if you're brave unless they somehow lifted it or ride on 2 wheels. I went through a lot of water that had somewhat deep mud ruts in it but I wasn't getting stuck in my beast or spinning.

This trail is fun and heaven for 4by4 beginner.

Someone came through and ripped out all the bigger rocks making the trail far too easy. Can get through it in any crossover now, maybe even a taller car if you're brave. Completely ruined the trail for me. What the hells the point of having the trail if it's easily passable by any car. When it's dryer out I'm going back and moving all the rocks back onto the trail.

Took this one 5/25/21. Not a bad little trail. Just have a leveled F-150 and had no problems just went slow. Only touched once and that was my own fault. Stayed right the whole way. Came out on gumpas hill rd.

New to Jeeping and took out the TJ with the family. Went left and was a little gnarly at times. No lift and 31s. Will definitely go back.

Did this trail a few days back, fun fun little trail with a lot of ice patches. Did both the left and right at the split, right is the route more traveled and left is a fun longer way of the trail that meets up with the blue marked trail. Made it out with ease for a fun day out wheeling

We drove to the end of pavement on Spaulding Hill Road (identified as a dead end). The trail appears to be a continuation of the road past the pavement. This trail has some rocky points and some muddy spots, but overall dry on this day. There was some minor mud as you drive past the beaver dam after taking your first right. Some beautiful rural woodland as you drive along. You will eventually come on another split. To the left appeared to be the road more travelled but had a tree blocking further passage without clearing. To the right, there were a couple minor rock ledges but eventually led to Tower Hill Road in Pelham; I think some of these ledges could be scary for someone with a stock vehicle (scraping). But a neat little diversion relatively close to home. Did all of it in 2WD.

Just drove the trail. Had to do a little planning here or there but made it through without issue. Few puddles but mostly dry.

It was dry when I went a few weeks back. I took a left at the fork but only went a little ways down as it was getting dark out. Now that it’s rained a little, I’m going to go back and see if it’s better when wet.

Went in the dry, starting from spaulding hill and took a right at the fork. Pretty easy in this direction (stock, no lift, 31s) as it was mostly downhill. Might try the other way around for a bit more of a challenge. Nice scenery, not too long

First time off-road. Took the wife's stock Rav4 and used son as a spotter. Scraped the bottom a few times and actually turned around after being in the woods for 30 min. Was a good time though. Maybe with a little more patience could have made it through.

Did this one easier today and glad I did. It wasn’t too difficult at all, didn’t have any bottoming out or concerns about blowing out a tire. I don’t even know if I slipped that much. Definitely a good beginner trail. I took the right fork that goes by the swamp. Looking forward to getting up there again.

Trail wasn’t that muddy. Didn’t have to get in 4WD to get through. More Rocks than anything else.

Ran the trail in a stock 2004 4Runner. Pretty muddy but very passable. Some slightly large rocks that without large tires or lift you need to maneuver around. Fun trail.

This is a pretty easy trail. I don't have much experience whatsoever and I have a completely stock TJ wrangler sport 5 speed and I was able to do this trail more than once, one time mostly dry and the second time very muddy. It is a really nice trail and doesn't take much time to complete. there is a fork at one point and I only know the right side, gotta go back and try out the left of the fork.
