Take the 4X4/ATV road on the west side of Jump Creek and headed south. After driving for a bit you will arrived at the Poison Creek Road. Shortly after that you will enter the Sands Basin. From here here you can make a loop and looked for a geocache where Jump Creek starts into the canyon. There are rock piles around here that are very challenging. This whole area is Life Flight territory in case of major injury, with spotty cell phone service. The trail is about 33 miles long and takes about 6 hours total. You will encounter sand, mud, rocks, obstacles, and nice scenic views.

Directions:

From Marsing, Idaho take Idaho 55 west to the junction with US-95. Continue 1½ miles west past the junction and turn left (west) onto Cemetery Road. Turn left (south) at the T-intersection with a STOP sign. This road is Jump Creek Road. Continue south until the pavement ends and the road curves right over a cattle guard. The road is public, but the land on each side is private until reaching the recreation area.
