Trail report: Rover Woods after the August storms

The ravine line reopened, two bypasses are new, and the creek crossing moved twenty feet. What changed and where.

Wheel It Team

Three weekends of storms rearranged Rover Woods. Here is the state of the trails as of this week's walkthrough.

What reopened

The ravine line is back after the crew rebuilt the north approach. It runs harder than before: the storm stripped the loose top layer and left rock steps where the ruts were.

What moved

The creek crossing shifted about twenty feet downstream. The old entry is roped off — the bank undercut and it will drop a rig. Follow the new flags.

New bypasses

Two new bypass lines are cut and signed, one around the ravine steps and one around the clay climb. Take them proudly. The bypass exists so the trail survives.

Book the next Rover Woods ride day from the parks page and read the listing for current conditions.
