Bear Valley OHV Loop
Bear Valley Campground access, Cottonwood Creek Road, Tahoe National Forest, near Sierraville, CA
About this trail
Bear Valley OHV Loop winds through rocky terrain and pine forest in Tahoe National Forest, with open stretches and mountain views. The map pin marks the Forest Service's published Bear Valley Campground access point on Cottonwood Creek Road, east of Little Truckee Summit. Use the designated Main Bear Valley OHV Loop, trail 16E65, and check vehicle rules before taking any connecting spur. The main loop is mapped for seasonal motorized use, generally April 24 through December 31; snow, fallen trees, gates or temporary orders can change access. High-clearance 4WD and experience on uneven, rocky ground are advisable. Check the current motor-vehicle map and alerts before travelling. Camping rules are separate from trail access, and campground water is not potable. The original photos show historical conditions, not a current trail report.
