Big Bend Ranch State Park

About this trail
Big Bend Ranch State Park has remote, unmaintained dirt roads for high-clearance four-wheel-drive vehicles amid rugged desert mountains and canyons. The map marks Barton Warnock Visitor Center, the east check-in location, not a 4x4 trailhead. Check in at Barton Warnock or Fort Leaton before entering the interior. Sauceda Ranch Road via FM 170 is the only interior access; the northern entrance is permanently closed. Confirm road conditions, required passes and hunt closures with park staff. Carry extra water, fuel and recovery supplies, and plan for extreme heat and limited services.
