About this trail
The Middle Fork OHV route climbs through Blackwood Canyon west of Lake Tahoe, with forest scenery, rocky sections and steep rolling dips. Enter from the Blackwood Creek OHV staging area off Barker Pass Road and follow the designated motorized route toward Barker Pass. Choose lines carefully and stay off nearby hiking-only paths. The current Forest Service map identifies the route as 15N38, with seasonal motor access; check gates, conditions and temporary restrictions before visiting. No drinking water is available, so bring your own. Camping and fires are subject to separate Forest Service restrictions.
