Forest Road 14S47 at Forest Road 13S04, Sequoia National Forest, CA
About this trail
Buck Rock Jeep Trail follows Forest Road 14S47 through the Hume Lake area of Sequoia National Forest. Pine woods, granite obstacles and mountain views line this challenging route near Buck Rock Lookout. Expect loose climbs, uneven rock and narrow sections that call for a high-clearance 4WD, careful line selection and recovery preparation. This is the technical Jeep trail, not the easier lookout access road. The map pin marks its junction with Forest Road 13S04. Use a highway-legal vehicle on the approach, stay on designated roads, and check current Forest Service closures and fire restrictions before travelling. Snow, washouts or fallen trees can change access.
