Christmas Valley offers shifting inland dunes and designated OHV riding areas in Oregon's high desert. Keep vehicles within authorized areas and routes; nearby Fossil Lake is closed to motorized travel, and the Lost Forest has separate protections. Oregon ATV permits are required. Camping is limited to designated primitive sites, with no water or restrooms provided. Bring supplies, check BLM maps and conditions, and leave fossils, plants and wood undisturbed.
