Coos Bay Dunes — Spinreel Access
Spinreel OHV Staging Area, Spinreel Road, North Bend area, OR
About this trail
Explore the southern Oregon Dunes riding area from Spinreel, with open sand and designated OHV routes near the coast. Soft sand, changing dune faces and limited visibility over crests demand careful driving and a suitably equipped vehicle. The pin marks the Forest Service's Spinreel OHV staging area, not the dune pictured in the historical community photo. Use authorized routes and open riding areas only; neighboring hiking areas, vegetation and protected habitat are not riding areas. An Oregon OHV permit is required, and staging fees or accepted recreation passes apply. Check current flag, equipment, sound and riding-hour rules before arriving. Beach access has seasonal and wildlife restrictions, including snowy-plover protections; follow current signs and maps instead of assuming the entire shoreline is open. Arrange any campsite separately with the relevant campground or sand-camping operator. This is a trail-directory page, with no booking or admission sold here.
