About this trail
Dumont Dunes north of Baker offers broad sand bowls, steep climbs and smaller dunes for off-highway vehicles. The main dunes are reached from Highway 127 via Dumont Road. A recreation pass is required, along with appropriate vehicle registration, safety flags and approved exhaust equipment. Stay out of wilderness and protected areas; surrounding limited-use lands require designated-route travel. Bring water, fuel and recovery supplies, and prepare for extreme heat, wind and unreliable cell coverage.
