Fordyce Creek Trail
Pierce Meadow OHV staging area, Eagle Lakes Road, Tahoe National Forest, CA
About this trail
Fordyce Creek Trail is a demanding Sierra rock-crawling route with steep granite obstacles, narrow lines and deep creek crossings. It is suited to experienced drivers with appropriately modified 4WD vehicles and recovery equipment. The map pin marks Pierce Meadow staging off Eagle Lakes Road, not a creek crossing. Follow designated trail 13E10 and the current Forest Service motor-use map. Creek flows can change abruptly; historic photos and past event arrangements do not establish safe crossing conditions. Check current flows, closures and seasonal restrictions before travelling, and turn back when conditions are uncertain. As checked September 11, 2026, nearby Rattlesnake Road and roads 85-2 and 85-2-1 are closed through December 31, 2026. Do not plan an exit via those roads. Signal Peak is also separately closed. This directory entry does not provide a navigable trail track.
