Hawley Mine OHV Trail
Trail 11E75 junction with Hawley Lake Trail (11E74), Tahoe National Forest, near Sierra City, CA
About this trail
Hawley Mine OHV Trail is a short, rugged spur in the forest near Hawley Lake. Designated trail 11E75 branches from Hawley Lake Trail, with rocky ground, uneven sections and brush along the route. The pin marks that mapped junction rather than the nearby Pacific Crest Trail. Reaching this area requires planning the connecting motorized routes and having a capable high-clearance 4WD; a short distance does not make the approach easy. Motorized use is normally seasonal, April 1 through December 31, subject to snow, gates and temporary restrictions. Stay on designated routes, keep vehicles off hiking-only trails and do not enter abandoned mine workings. The gallery contains the original historical topographic map, not a recent trail photograph or a downloadable navigation track.
