About this trail

Hell's Revenge crosses steep sandstone fins, rock ledges and sandy sections in Sand Flats Recreation Area near Moab. This demanding 4WD route is for experienced drivers with suitably equipped vehicles; do not rely on the legacy claim that stock vehicles can bypass every difficult section. Follow the painted trail markings and stay off the intersecting Slickrock Bike Trail. The county warns that eroded ledges near the later part of the route are extremely difficult and recommends an alternative return. Use its current map and directions when planning your route. Sand Flats admission is paid directly to the recreation area. The pin uses the BLM's published trailhead coordinates. Bring water and recovery supplies, confirm current access and vehicle requirements, and check weather before travelling. The original community photo is historical, not a live conditions report.
