High Lakes Trail 611
High Lakes approach, junction of Forest Roads 25N05 and 25N04, Lassen National Forest, near Philbrook, CA
About this trail
High Lakes Trail 611 winds through forest and rocky terrain near Spring Valley Lake, with connections deeper into the High Lakes network. The approach may be easier than the sections beyond the lake: rock steps and uneven ground call for suitable clearance and four-wheel drive, and the old claim that the whole route is suitable for a stock SUV is not a reliable guide. The pin marks the 25N05/25N04 approach junction, not permission to cross private Lotts Lake property. Follow 25N04 toward Bald Mountain and use the signed 611 connection identified by the local trail stewards; respect private gates and check the latest map before travelling. Snow, fallen trees and temporary forest restrictions can affect access. Stay on designated motorized routes and leave meadows and lakeshores undisturbed. The three original forest, lake and trail images are historical photographs, not a current condition report.
