About this trail
Moon Rocks combines granite rock-crawling obstacles with desert riding terrain north of Reno and Sparks. The BLM-managed OHV area is reached from Winnemucca Ranch Road via Bedell Road, with unpaved staging areas near the rounded rock formations. Choose lines suited to your vehicle and experience; an accessible staging road does not make every rock obstacle easy. The surrounding landscape includes private land, so respect fences, signs and riding boundaries. Bring drinking water, watch for other riders and livestock, and pack out litter and sharp debris. Check current fire restrictions and OHV registration and equipment requirements before visiting. The pin follows the BLM destination marker.
