Noonday Wagon Road Trail 1405
Lower Noonday trail approach, Champion Creek Road, Southeast of Cottage Grove, OR
About this trail
Noonday Wagon Road Trail climbs through steep forested terrain toward Noonday Ridge in the Bohemia mining country. Tight switchbacks, narrow sections and uneven surfaces make this a demanding 4WD route, especially when wet. Short-wheelbase vehicles with suitable clearance are better suited to the confined turns; scout uncertain sections and carry recovery equipment. The pin marks the lower approach near Champion Creek Road, not the ridge summit. Follow the designated Trail 1405 corridor and current signs, and do not use closed mining spurs or assume nearby trails allow full-size vehicles. Check Umpqua National Forest alerts, fire restrictions, snow and trail conditions before travelling. A mapped motor-use designation does not guarantee that the trail is currently passable. The two original community photographs are historical; they do not establish today's surface conditions or a preferred travel direction.
