Oriflamme Canyon
Oriflamme Canyon Road, off County Highway S2, Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, CA
About this trail
Oriflamme Canyon climbs through rocky desert country with narrow switchbacks and views across Anza-Borrego. California State Parks lists the Oriflamme/Rodriguez roads as rough four-wheel-drive terrain with ruts, deep sand and boulders. Bring a street-legal, high-clearance 4WD and choose a route suited to your vehicle and experience. The map point marks the published approach from County Highway S2, not a surveyed gate or full route. Stay on designated vehicle roads; the Pacific Crest Trail crossing is for hikers. Weather can alter the road, and higher elevations may receive winter snow. Check current park restrictions and road conditions before travelling, and carry water, offline maps and recovery supplies.
