About this trail
Prison Hill overlooks Carson City with desert hills, rocky terrain and mountain views. Motorized recreation is restricted to the southern OHV area; the northern trails are non-motorized. Use the southern access at Golden Eagle Lane and consult the city map for designated vehicle routes and bounded open-riding areas. Some routes require high-clearance four-wheel drive or a modified rock crawler. Riding is daylight-only, and motor vehicles are prohibited during National Weather Service Red Flag Warnings. The community photos show the wider recreation area, not proof that a pictured path permits vehicles.
