Ray's Route OHV Trail
Trail 11E70 junction with Gold Valley OHV Trail (11E67), Tahoe National Forest, near Sierra City, CA
About this trail
Ray's Route is a short, rocky OHV spur off Gold Valley Trail in the forest north of Downieville. Designated route 11E70 travels through old mining country, with uneven ground and obstacles that call for a capable high-clearance 4WD and careful line choice. Reaching the spur also involves the rugged Gold Valley network. The pin marks the mapped junction with trail 11E67, not the nearby Pacific Crest Trail. Motorized use is normally seasonal, April 1 through December 31, subject to snow, gates and temporary restrictions. Check the current Forest Service map for every connecting route, stay on designated tracks and keep motor vehicles off hiking-only paths. The gallery contains the original historical topographic map rather than a recent trail photograph or a navigation track.
