About this trail
Samoa Dunes combines coastal sand riding, marked OHV trails and a 4x4 rock-crawling course near Humboldt Bay. Follow the BLM map to distinguish vehicle areas from protected dunes, wetlands and other closed land. The recreation area is day-use only; camping is not allowed within it. Bring the required vehicle registration, safety flag and approved exhaust equipment. Large waves can reach the beach without warning, and the jetty is not safe for recreation. Check tides, weather and posted access rules before riding.
