About this trail
Snaggy Mountain's designated ORV road runs through Garrett State Forest from Cranesville Road toward the bridge at the head of Herrington Lake. The pin marks the mapped ORV parking area on Snaggy Mountain Road, not forest headquarters. Stay on the authorized road: adjoining snowmobile loops and hiking trails are not open to wheeled vehicles. DNR's visitor guidance and published regulations differ on seasonal dates; check current restrictions with the forest before travel. ORV registration rules apply, with an exemption for licensed vehicles registered with Maryland's MVA. The separate 5.5 Mile Trail bridge over Toliver Run is currently closed and should not be used as a connecting route. Original community photos show past conditions, not a current access guarantee.
