Snake Lake OHV Trail
Trail 12E67, east-side junction near Pauley Creek Road (0093-003), Tahoe National Forest, near Sierra City, CA
About this trail
Snake Lake OHV Trail is a rocky, technical route in the Sierra lakes country, with steep sections and obstacles that demand careful line choice. The source photos show vehicle-scale rock steps; suitable clearance, traction and low-range gearing are important, and this is not an outing to assume a stock SUV can complete. The pin marks the mapped east-side end of trail 12E67 near the Pauley Creek Road approach. The trail is designated for seasonal motorized use, normally April 1 through December 31, but vehicle permissions differ on connecting roads: part of Pauley Creek Road requires a highway-legal vehicle. Check the current map for your full itinerary, remain on designated routes and keep motor vehicles off the Pacific Crest Trail. The gallery includes two original vehicle photos and a historical map, not a current condition report or navigable track.
