Spanish OHV Route
Trail 28E224 at Rodgers Ridge Road 11S07, Sierra National Forest, CA
About this trail
Spanish OHV Route climbs through pine forest and rocky terrain south of Wishon Reservoir in Sierra National Forest. Loose dirt, granite and tight gaps between trees make this a demanding drive for a high-clearance 4WD. Full-size pickups and van-type vehicles are not recommended because of the limited clearance. Follow designated Trail 28E224 from Rodgers Ridge Road and stop at the signed wilderness boundary; the lakes beyond require travel on foot. The motor-use map lists a July 1–November 1 season, subject to closures and conditions. Check current Forest Service fire restrictions, gates and weather before travelling. Carry recovery equipment and avoid wet conditions that could damage the route.
