Trough Trail
Trough Road, rock-crawling trail approach, Near Bond, CO
About this trail
Trough Trail is a short, highly technical rock-crawling route off Trough Road in the Colorado River corridor. Large boulders fill a narrow canyon, with difficult lines suited to rock buggies and extensively modified 4WD vehicles. It is not a stock-vehicle scenic drive. Obstacles can shift, and even a short distance may take substantial time. Bring appropriate recovery equipment, experienced companions and supplies, and inspect the route before committing. The pin identifies the lower trail approach rather than a surveyed parking space. Keep access clear and stay on the established route; nearby tracks and private property are not automatically part of the trail. Check current access and seasonal restrictions with BLM's Kremmling Field Office before travelling, along with applicable Colorado OHV requirements. The preserved community photograph shows historical conditions, not a live assessment of passability.
